ridiculous 'research' but an amusing article spun out of it. apparently the journal of consumer research knows whether or not a woman who buys a handbag is attached or not
really baffled as to how they could be clear about that. They also conclude that the nicer your handbag the more likely you are to be spoken for. (
thinks back to pvc handbags I owned when with xh and the nice leather one I use now).
I would have thought single women and particularly women with no children had more cash to spend on handbags! Not having a man who'll ask innocently 'how much did that cost?' would make a woman with cash in her pocket feel inclined to go for the handbag she really wants.
