Where can I buy - a long 100% cotton dressing gown that doesn't cost the earth?

Due to the bloody menopause I can't tolerate synthetic fabric. I want a long (to the floor) dressing gown. Ideally not costing more than £50-60. In my ideal world it would be purple.

Any suggestions where to buy one.

Oh gosh don't get me started on this. I want one that is patterned (hides the muck better!) and can't find one less than a £75 cath kidston.

Last year M&S did a pure cotton one. Stupid idiots actually did a pure cotton outer lined entirely with polyester fleece. I sent it back and left a stinking review at them describing their clothes inaccurately.

I've got a lovely one that came in a gift pack of Sanctuary smellies - which gives me the idea that if John Lewis doesn't do one (try them first) hotels and spas usually flog their in-house gowns, and they're always plain waffle cotton, (white but would dye like a dream) so try googling them.

White Company. Most of them are 100% cotton...

IKEA!

Have you thought about getting a second-hand one off ebay? That's what I did when I couldn't reconcile my dressing gown budget with my aversion to manmade fibres.

Take a look at 'good morning beautiful' gorgeous and full length dressing gowns

emsyj · 14/09/2013 08:54

King of Cotton - really reasonable prices and nice stuff, lots of choice of different styles and all cotton.

KosherBacon · 14/09/2013 08:57

WeightyKaty- they are beautiful but they look like cotton rather than cosy towelling robes.

emsyj · 14/09/2013 09:05

The King of Cotton site has cotton, waffle, cotton velour and cotton towelling choices.

I went to the White Company in Cardiff today. They have a lovely long 100% cotton dressing gown which costs £50.

A good idea for Christmas..
