Anyone had 'boob job' with Spire?

I'm having breast surgery very soon with Spire and was just wondering if anybody has had anything done with them? Or if anybody has experience of a breast augmentation?

Getting slightly nervous!

I am a 34 A at the moment but due to big weight loss they are verrry saggy. I'm fine with a small chest just felt really self concious due to their lack of shape which is why I'm having it done.

I initially asked for the smallest implant they could give me but was told that if I wanted a good shape to them then the smallest implant wouldn't do as it would not fill my excess skin. The smallest I could go to get the desired look would be 300cc.

I've never wanted big boobs as such but anything is better then what I have now. In my mind I'm picturing a D at most? But been told that it depends on each person and how much tissue you have to begin with. I was hoping for a full B but I have prepared myself to expect something bigger now lol

I would look for a named surgeon rather than at the company. All companies will have good and bad staff.

This guy does great boobs. He has a great reputation and is the man that did the first UK hand transplant.

Hi Joey I had implants with Spire Parkway about 8 years ago. Can't recommend them highly enough. I'm pretty sure that all the surgeons at Spire hospitals are BAAPs registered. My surgeon Mrs Kat is very highly regarded. I went from an A to an E. I must add though that I requested a large C small D! I wasn't concerned at the time that they were bigger but as I'm heading towards my 40s now I would like them reduced. Like you I had lost alot of weight and breastfed two children and my breast were like two flaps of skin just hanging down and had completely lost all body confidence. Anyway hope that helps :-)

Absolutely the same, just have no body confidence whatsoever so really looking forward to the procedure.

I got told that if I don't know what size to go, always go for the bigger option because apparently most women regret not going bigger but I assured them that wouldn't be the case with me haha.

I went with Spire because I got told how great they are and as they are a private hospital I will definitely feel safe and taken care of. Not to mention they are local to me. Pretty perfect actually.

thefarmerhasawife - how long did it take you to recover? How long did you have to wear a sports bra for and how long before you could exercise again?

I have had a couple of (non cosmetic) ops with spire Alexandra. I had great care. The nurses and docs were really caring.

Ah good to hear! I know a couple of people who work there and they work sooo hard and absolutely love their jobs. They really care for their patients, so I feel 100% confident I chose the right hospital.

What you need to bear in mind is that you're preobably actually much smaller than a 34 under bust. If that's the case, and you're, for example, a 30, then a 30D, E, F is still a fairly small bust.

Joey - I felt rough for a few days from the anaesthetic and remember it made my tummy really bloated. No pain from my breasts unless I lifted my arms above my head to reach something so make sure you've got help! Very minimal bruising as I took arnica capsules for a few days before and now just a thin scar under each breast. I wore a sports bra for about 6 weeks and I'm sorry but I can't remember when I started exercising again! I expect around the 6 week mark as I do like my exercise and won't have gone without it for too long!! Nobody ever realises I've had surgery unless I tell them and then they are normally quite shocked as they look very natural as they're the teardrop anatomical ones. You'll love the result I bet!

SorrelForbes - Oh ok thats good then! I really didn't want to be too big! Interesting the whole measurement thing, they don't really teach this anywhere - they should though, as most women wear the wrong bra size.

I didnt really think much about the scars, but if arnica helped then I will definitely try them!

I have no experience of breast ops, but being a 32E naturally (my underbust measurement is 30), I'd counsel against going too big. You have no idea how many tops/dresses/jackets won't fit. My frame is a size 8, and there are so many clothes that fit everywhere but are too tight across the bust. You end up having to size up & then look swamped, because the item is essentially too big.

Could I ask how much you're paying if that's not too nosy. I've been considering having this done for a long time.

Ah twinklestein thats what I was afraid of :-/ thats was the only thing putting me off having anything done but it was this or really saggy boobs! I wanted to go small but was told it wouldnt give me my desired look as with the amount of skin I have - they would still be saggy.

Sucks but I know which I would prefer.

I had one with spire. I have 290cc high profile teardrop shaped under the muscle. I was 32AA before. Tbh I wish they were just a tiny bit smaller although they balance out my hips well. I think im 32D now (i never need a bra now so never wear one!) But then I have a very small frame so 300 might be perfect for you

I don't know much about it but you could have a reduction & uplift rather than just an augmentation? I've seen it done on TV with good results...

I think the uplift is a much more serious operation isn't it? They take the nipple off and reposition it?

I'm very interested in this post , I'm currently trying to lose weight, I've dropped quite a lot already and my boobs are shrinking and sagging. I used to be a 32B/C when I was skinny, I've been in a 34E/36DD for the last few years and it's been the one positive about being bigger! I don't want to lose my boobs! I'd definitely consider implants once things have settled. I also love the idea of being able to go bra-less, all those summer dresses!

Thank you MadameLeBean :-) I was tempted to go for the 290! But was told there wasnt much different between the 290 and 300? I wish I could go 280 though! Darn obesity screwing my life up lol!

I've always thought I have a small frame up top but got told that actually im quite broad so 300 wouldn't look out of place.

Twinklesetein - I did consider that option which would be a mastoplexy but it is a longer and more complicated procedure with a higher risk of something going wrong.

Also because im lacking fat/tissue there would be nothing to keep the skin in place and more of a chance of the nipple slipping. I've heard of this happening before.

But I was preferring that option until I fully researched it. The breast implants were the second best option - restoring shape to my boobs and giving them an uplift at the same time :-)

If you buy clothes from Bravissimo you should be ok as they do tops and dresses that are bigger in the bust by varying sizes :)

Loads of people have implants done these days. my friend looks after so many patients that come in and have it done. Older women, young women, women who have just had kids...and a lot of them down to losing shape in the breast not necessarily wanting to go bigger.

I would say definitely go for it :-) worth it if its going to fix your confidence and make you feel great, I know mine will!

I always thought Bravissimo must sell most it's clothes (Pepperberry?) to implantees! I used to buy my bras there, back in the ample-bosomed days ;-)

Oh ok, no I can imagine! I finally get to a point where I don't have to worry about clothes fitting me...lol ah well, im still hoping they aren't going to be enormous. Impatient to see what they will look like now!

I've had a breast reduction and the nipple isn't fully removed - it remains attached for the duration of the op. unless u have a massive reduction and substantial re positioning and then it's called a free nipple graft and it's removed fully but we're talking major major reductions. I had mo complications and no change in sensation. In fact, im probably a bit more sensatuve now if anything. Have u looked at realself? Amazing website. I was addicted in the run up to my surgery.
