I only really had 1 spot I wanted to nix but applied the ointment to other areas too. It's like it's eaten my skin! Big red welts. Thank god I don't need to leave the house today but I've a public speaking event this weekend! Is there anything I can do to calm the fire?

Sudocreme would help soothe it :)

Will try that thank you!

I sympathise. I recently had a disaster with retin A.

Woke up to looking like a pizza.

I had to gently slough off all peeling skin that was hanging off. Then left with a bright red face I applied zinc cream and then thank god for max factor all day face finity which is a primer, concealer and foundation in one.

Close up I probably looked a little strange but I was able to go to work and I just made sure I didn't get too close to anyone and I looked fine from a distance!

Oh it's awful Sunday isn't it. What is this zinc cream you speak of?

The Sudocreme seems to be helping a bit, thank you Fanjo. Clinique do a sheer green tint base thing which is vg at calming redness but unfortunately I've run out.

I'm hoping that my inadvertent DIY chemical peel will eventually leave my skin all nice and new looking...Hmm

If you use it again use a tiny tiny amount, you sort of have to build it up. And always moisturise with it or you will be shedding skin Grin

Persevere .... but build up from a tiny amount.

I found it worth the effort, though I must say my skin didn't react as badly as yours seems to have done.
