having my annual wax soon to go on holiday!
DH would love me to get a brazilian wax, but I am a bit chicken!!

I conclude from the response to this posting that MNers are either very shy or very hairy....

Greensleeves · 22/06/2006 12:28

Tell him you find hairy bollocks a turn-off, and suggest that you both go and get waxed at the same time

nailpolish · 22/06/2006 12:30

it hurts like fuck

but thats nothing to the embarrassment you get when informing the beautician you "want a landing strip"

but its worth it

no spiders legs poking out the side of your bikini bottoms

shazronnie · 22/06/2006 12:31

Good idea! Bet that will make him appreciate the natural look!

i agree w/NP. BUT, do it for you, not some guy.

i like Greensleeves' suggestion.

shazronnie · 22/06/2006 12:32

thanks for your honesty nailpolish!!

Northerner · 22/06/2006 12:32

Lol at do it for you. What woman has a brazillian for herself? If it was up to me I'd have a big hairy mot, but dh likes it neat and tidy so I do it cause I know he likes it.

Greensleeves · 22/06/2006 12:35

I've never asked dh about his taste in cuntopiary. I've been through enough searing agony having his children, thanks!!!

expatinscotland · 22/06/2006 12:35

I do, northerner! I don't like being hairy. I've kept body hair in check even when I was single.

Northerner · 22/06/2006 12:36

PMSL at Cuntopiary!!! Ha ha

Big bush is very 80's.

Bugsy2 · 22/06/2006 12:37

If you've had a bikini wax then you'll have a vague idea of how much it hurts. Some of the more delicate bits hurt so much my eyes were watering, but I did manage not to shout out loud like the woman in the next door cubicle to me!!!!

shazronnie · 22/06/2006 12:39

Perhaps I could ask for an epidural...

OP posts:
Bugsy2 · 22/06/2006 12:46

LOL - gas & air for sure!!!! I always take a voltarol before I get mine done!!

Coolmama · 22/06/2006 20:31

make sure you go to someone who knows what they are doing - and don't wear a thong or g-string to the appt. as the post-wax area may be too sensitive -
I always had my appt after lunch which involved a good few glasses of wine - I then didn't give a sh*t that I was about to have hot wax smeared around my anus by some other woman and then have her rub in some linen strip and then RRRRRIIIIIIPPPPPPPPP - bye-bye furry fanny

FrayedKnot · 22/06/2006 20:33

Based on my experiences with just a normal bikini wax, there is no way I would ever attempt anything more daring without G&A.

Wincing at the thought tbh.

chestnutty · 22/06/2006 20:39

Never had any fanny treatments.
Do they really do round the annus coolmama?
What if you want to fart!

Coolmama · 22/06/2006 20:58

a true brazilian - from one end to the other, all is celared - the "landing stip" is purely for entertainment -
As to farting - trust me, you will, from sheer terror, be puckered up so tight, nothing will get out!!

chestnutty · 22/06/2006 21:13

PMSL

Coolmama · 22/06/2006 21:22

nothing vaguely funny about either lying on a table with knees wrapped around your ears exposing more than the Dr saw when your lo was born or on all fours on the table with hands grabbing bum cheeks for maximum exposure!

themoon66 · 23/06/2006 12:08

Oh God this all sounds like a nightmare. I was thinking (only thinking) of going to get bikini line waxed, but I don't think I'll bother now.

Was talking to a workmate who went for bikini line doing with her mate, who went for the full brazilian. Apparently the staff had to close all the windows of the beauty salon coz you could hear the screams out on the highstreet

shazronnie · 23/06/2006 12:42

okay coolmama you have put me right off! I think I will just get the edges done like normal.

They are lying Socci - just like all those people who tell you that childbirth doesn't really hurt either!!!

themoon66 · 23/06/2006 13:17

So are you gonna go all the way to New York just to find out?

Kidstrack · 23/06/2006 13:30
