Now taht I've hopefully inveigled someone into reading this thread, am desperate for shopping advice...Could anyone find me some summer tops - am loose-tummied postnatal size twelve at moment, averse to round necks and straps, not especially bosomy despite bfing, tallish. Woudl as ever be most gratefullest...

Have you looked on the Kew website? I currently am sporting a V-neck 'ruched' Tshirt which kind of ruches in a way that, er, skims the tummy.

krabbiepatty · 21/06/2006 12:34

Am so retrospectively ashamed at desperado-ness of this thread title, mi, that have gone to ground. (but will check otu Kew, thanks)... will now start "games to play at pirate party" thread under title "I am a pervy troll"...

Why is that the thread title?

WelshBoris · 21/06/2006 12:35

pervy troll

krabbiepatty · 21/06/2006 12:37

I thought "summer tops for jelly belly" would get no readers, nqc,. My only defence is that my 12-week-old is colicky and my brain cells are disappearing or hardening or weren't there in the first place.

pmsl - I came on because of the title

New look have some longer line t-shirts with sort of a low, rounded v-neck (does that make sense?). Cheap, basic, but still look nice, and cover up the flabby well.

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 21/06/2006 12:57

seeing as your ruse worked I feel I ought to post smoething useful. so I looked at jigsaw. don;t really like much at all but the shirt on page 14 is nice, it's long so tummy covering, not strappy, very summery.

MrsBadger · 21/06/2006 12:57

Primark and Topshop also have longer tops with deepish scoopy necks and a bit of ruching up the side seam.

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 21/06/2006 12:59

and whilst even sugesting it is probably as bad as voting tory I think there are some nice things this year here

I have just bought one of the cross over tops , (purple with black trousers in main picture) and they are very flatterring and forgiving of a tummy.

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 21/06/2006 13:06

I like that - is it all one top? or has she got a matching vest/camisole/t-shirt underneath?

CheesyFeet · 21/06/2006 13:06

Thanks for that link T&P, I saw someone at work with one of those tops and wondered where she got it from.

FlameBoo · 21/06/2006 13:09

I looked at those ts&p - what is your norkage like? I wasn't sure how matronly I'd end up

TwinsetandPearls · 21/06/2006 14:23

It is all in one, I am a 36DD and a size 16 so have a tum but have a nice waist. It is not too low cut and clings in all the right places but skims the tummy. I tried it on and dp said I looked fab in it and he is very honest!

TwinsetandPearls · 21/06/2006 14:25

I can look matronly in the wrong outfit nd I didn't in this.

krabbiepatty · 21/06/2006 14:32

Oh muchas gracias all, will have a good look at these - have just inducted colicky one into pleasures of a long bath and am pleased to say she is her mother's daughter in the long bath stakes.

FlameBoo · 21/06/2006 16:41

I will be forced to get me one then
