Can I ask you some questions about these boots please ....

Someone linked to these on another thread a couple of weeks back. I keep looking at them - guess that means I quite like them. Anyway, will they make my already skinny calves look like matchsticks when worn with skinny jeans? Will they be okay to wear with straight leg jeans? How? Dresses and wool tights? (Though I think aforementioned calves will rule that out.). Naff or on trend?

They look like they have a wide opening, are they pull on?

They'd be fine with straight legs, with skinnies and tights just wear thick socks or leg warmers crumpled down.

I have the same issue.

They're nice boots but I'm afraid I wouldn't buy them - because I've got the same skinny calves/ankles as you OP and I automatically look at the amount of gape there would be around the ankle. I find a mid calf boot seems to be the best for me

I have slim ankles and claves and I really struggle with ankle boots. They look like mini wellies on me with tights or skinnies....try them on!

I like them (and have skinny calves/ankles!). I quite like legwarmers peeping out of the top of that sort of boot to 'fill the gap' a bit.

I've just bought these which are not dissimilar. They are lovely, really comfy.

Yeah they will make your legs look sticklike, I have the same problem. I've tried on a gazillion pairs of ankle boots & they never work.

However, they will look fine with straight, bootleg & bell bottom jeans.

Thanks all - hmmm you're all confirming what was niggling me - too wide at the ankle and will make my matchsticks look even more matchstick like!

Like those Cointreau - I've something a little similar from HoF last year - so comfortable.

I am not skinny of leg/calf (zip up boots fit me fine as a reference) and I have tried these on but rejected them as they almost clung to my ankle and cut off my leg at the worst possible point so I think they could really work if you are skinny as I think there should be a bit of gaping with this kind of boot. Was gutted as they are very nice!
