Should I wear a brown trouser suit to the races at the end of September or do I need a dress and jacket?

Hi I'm off to Chester races at the end of the month, have been before but always in the summer.

I have a dilemma of what to wear, we shall be in one of the nice restaurants on the course and I'm considering wearing a chocolate brown wool trouser suit with a floaty blouse and perhaps new boots/ shoes with matching bag. I wore the trouser suit and blouse for dd christening 2 years ago so it is quite nice but is it fancy enough for the races?

Should I go out in search of shoes or do I need a dress and jacket?

You should never wear a brown trouser suit! Grin

Sorry - deeply unhelpful... I would say absolutely fine, there will be people in tweeds and green wellies.
