New single mum late 40s I need an outfit help!

Going out with some other ladies in a few weeks who are younger than me. We are going into town and visiting some trendy wine bars etc. I'm a recently single mum who although likes fashion has been doing the school run for too many years!!! I am 5'6 and slim and fair and look younger than my age.

What on earth do I wear???? Help please.

I had a similar trip out at the weekend, for the first time in ages. I am mid forties but am also told I look younger by lovely (and hopefully honest) people.

I wore a layered top very similar to this, black skinnies and ankle boots. I like the layered look with a transparent outer layer as it feels quite sexy without actually having to reveal any flesh. I saw a lot of women in very short dresses, very high, strappy shoes and bare legs, but I've never had the legs for that and am not going to start now, however many kind comments I get about my age.

Thank you that looks ideal. I'm not keen on the short dress high heels look as I'm too old but I do want something that is a little sexy. I'm dreading the night really but it has to be done!

That outfit is almost identical to what I wore out at the weekend too!I'm a similar size & age.Can't go wrong with black skinnies boots & floaty black top.Try Topshop for tops,H&M for jeans.I wore slightly waxed jeans and chandelier earrings for more evening-y look.
