Boys fleece Onesie

DS ( 7 ) wants a onesie. Are these worn instead of, or as well as PJ's ? Are they more for lounging about the house than sleeping in? And they all seem to have a hood, does this not make them very uncomfortable to sleep in? Thanks!

I bought one from Matalan today for £5. DS will wear it over his pyjamas as an extra layer to keep him warm in bed. It didn't have feet or a hood.

M&S do some.

I think they're quite warm. I only tend to use them for camping or when it's really cold as my boys kick off their covers. I'd put a vest & pants underneath in case they got too sweaty. I couldn't bear it next to my skin!

Older ds wants a hood. I wouldn't for the 3yo.

I use instead of jim jams. Dd wears hers in leiu, as do her friends I think. (They go so parties in them!)
