Dress for charity ball... Where do I start?.

I thought you lovely fashionistas may have some ideas as to where I can find a dress for charity ball event.

I am 5"4' and size 10 poss small 12. Big norks and definitely not as svelte as I was pre 2 dc. I used to have loads of evening wear mostly coast, monsoon types but no idea where to start now!

I like 50's stuff and am hourglass so slim top bigger skirt suits. Reddish hair, dark brown eyes and but not especially pale.

Any ideas? I can prob swing up to about 150 DH might squeal if I get nearer 200 but I want to look good! I haven't been out after dark for years!

TIA Smile

How about this little beauty

BobbinUp · 08/09/2013 08:19

Thanks TSS. I did see that as had a hunt after I posted and agree its beautiful! It's a bit more than I would like to pay but not massively. Might just be worried it would be a very popular dress and there could be loads of us! Smile

I watched SCD opening show last night and loved the dress worn by Sophie Ellis B ( I think she was wearing the grey chiffon and sparkly number). Perhaps slightly less sequins would be appropriate for real life though Grin

My first stop is always tk maxx. May find something there? Or vintage stores for authentic 50's styles

Thanks Chablis. I am going to TK Maxx later this week. Vintage shops prob just to tricky to get to at the moment! Don't have much spare time to do shopping!
