It really shouldn't be this hard but I flit between one season and another never feeling I've got it. Any input most appreciated.
Here are some basics about me-
I have pale neutral skin that leans slightly cool.
I have pink cheeks and can't ever wear blush. It completely throws out my features.
My eyes are blue/grey with a dark navy ring around them and very slight amber flecks around the iris.
My hair was chestnut with golden streaks in as a child but became an ashier mid deep brown as I aged.
Any shade of blonde, ginger and dark brown/black hair wash me out.
With respect to make-up my MAC skintone is NW20 ( which is neutral cool according to their weird system).
The only eyeshadow that suits is taupe and ivory. Too warm and it sits on op of my skin. The same apples to pink and grey eyeshadow.
Now onto my bugbear- lipstick. I absolutely cannot do a nude lip (unless I'm channelling morgue chic) or pink- esp light pink. Colours that stand out on others I just seem to mute. Brown looks ashy and coral is grim. I can pull off a garnet red, blue red and brick. Wine reds are good too.
Colours wise my best are raspberry red, deep red, navy, bright turquoise, deep purple, charcoal( lighter greys are a no) and iris purple. Black is fine but not right up to my face. Every single pastel is vile as is beige, cream, yellow, brown and mustard.
So what do you think?
