What to wear with these boots?

I've ordered these boots and am now panicking that they won't suit anything in my wardrobe or that they are old hat and I should have bought some ankle boots instead.

What do you think and what would you wear them with? (I'm 40, size 12 and 5'6" if that helps.)

Just went to the main "boots" page. What is the name of them?

NoGoatsToe · 05/09/2013 18:09

Balls... sorry. They are the Ransell leather biker boots in brown leather.

Ooh, I like those! Skinny jeans and a biker or waterfall jacket? Or leggings and a checked shirt/tunic (like a lumberjack shirt?) maybe?

NoGoatsToe · 06/09/2013 10:09

Thanks Reggie - I think I'm ok with the skinny jeans but was wondering about skirts and dresses? I have a straight denim mini and a cord mini skirt (well, not so much mini... just above the knee) and was hoping to wear them with those. I think I may have to get ankle boots as well though!! Terrible shame about that....

I'm not sure they'll go with the skirts, I have a similar pair and can't quite make them work with knee length skirts. They work with a short mini in a rocker chic kind of way but with your respectable dress they look like you're walking the dog before work. Soz!

NoGoatsToe · 06/09/2013 10:29

hmmm... yes Snoot I see what you mean, it was the welly boot effect I was hoping to avoid. They haven't arrived yet and I'm thinking of returning them... it's alot of money if they aren't really that versatile.

I agree, I think they're a tad too tall or a tad too short to be worn with skirts/dresses. They can be rock n' roll if worn with the right stuff, but unless you really have the right dress, and jacket, and hair, I think you'll struggle making them look "cool" rather than "country bumpkin" when worn with a dress... Sorry!! They're just kind of a strange in-between height, which I think makes them difficult Smile

Oh no, NoGoatsToe, don't return them, they're lovely! Although they are not cheap and if you can't justify buying two pairs if boots perhaps you should :(
