Vicks on manky toenails - what happens next?

So at the beginning of the year (thanks to Mumsnet) I began filing my manky, fungus stained toenail and applying the Vicks Vaporub. Sure enough it has worked, and today I trimmed the last of the dead, black fungus off my big toe!

It had got really bad and about half the nail was detached from my foot. It also had a strange kink in it. In six months it has gradually grown out and now I have a lovely smoothly curved toenail and it's all attached.

Thing is it's still a tiny bit yellow on one side. It doesn't go black any more and it's all attached and the right shape, so I'm not sure what to do now.

Should i carry on applying the vicks for a bit longer to make sure it doesn't come back? If so how long for? Once it's gone is there any way of making sure I don't get the fungus back again?

I don't know about the vicks thing, but if that was my toenail I would be celebrating / covering up the yellow with a nice new nail polish.
