I used the much lauded footner
on Thursday night. followed instructions to the letter. Zilch. Nowt. Nada. Soon disappointed. Until today. My feet are truly disgusting. skin peeling away from everywhere. I know you're not supposed to help it on its way but it's so hard to resist. I'm a happy footner bunny. Baby soft feet, here I come!!

Tell me more about this? I need soft feet!

dazzlingdeborahrose · 03/09/2013 18:16

The product is called Footner. You get it from Boots. Basically it's a pair of plastic socks filled with some sort of fruit acidy mixture. Smear a bit of Vaseline on the top of your foot then plunge your feet into the socks and sit watching trashy tv foe an hour. rinse off in warm water. That's it. Over the next few day your feet will start to peel. The whole process last 1 - 3 weeks. This is the first time I've used it but my hard skin is coming away in sheets! It looks awful. like I've got some sort of skin disease. I'll report back as soon as baby soft skin appears.

I did this a couple of weeks ago and it's great. Took about 5 days for the skin to start coming off and another 5 days to finish but have great skin now and am deliberately washing and moisturising feet more now to keep them that way Smile

Lavenderhoney · 03/09/2013 18:35

I'm going to try this! Normally I slather on Vaseline and do housework for a few hours in my socks- I can't go to bed with socks on- too hot. The effect is very soft skin, but it would be nice to get rid of the hard skin.
Thanks:)

OverAndAbove · 03/09/2013 18:48

Does it say anything about your toe nails ie do you have to protect them or anything (I have gel polish on). I have heard loads about footner and would love to try it!

desertbaby · 03/09/2013 18:59

I'm in! Although I managed to get a huge blister today on my toe- is it best to wait until it heals?

minibmw2010 · 03/09/2013 19:22

I think a friend had a cut on her foot and waited a little while. Re gel nails I think it suggests putting Vaseline on them, no idea of it'll damage though, sorry

dazzlingdeborahrose · 03/09/2013 20:11

I would probably probably wait til my gel polish was removed before using if I was you. Not sure what the effect would be. And it's a bit tingly so I wouldn't use it with a blister either. I may have to put on a pair of socks as I'm leaving a trail of shredded skin bits wherever I walk. Lovely Grin

ooh I have been reading up on this.

It's a bit pricey though. £19 in Boots?

Is it really worth it?

minibmw2010 · 03/09/2013 21:15

It's quite hard core, Boots were doing buy one get one half price.

dazzlingdeborahrose · 03/09/2013 21:46

Yoni, at the moment I would say yes it's worth it. I'll report back in a few days with my gross foot progress report.

Try a soap and glory foot scrubber. I bought one after reading the reviews on here and my word - it's amazing! One go with it sorted out my hideously cracked dry, hard heel skin (and little toe scaleyness!). It's brilliant. I really did not expect such a result with one go - my feet were hideous, dry, cracked and rough as! I nearly created sparks getting into my bed sheets - but no more! I LOVE that product. No chemicals either.

WetDog · 03/09/2013 22:59

I want the QVC one that melts your hard skin, called Pedikur I think.

For now I've got Schol foot file. Until recently I thought you should only use a foot file on dry skin. I was wrong.

Use it on slightly damp skin and it creates WORMS! Worms I tell you. Rather than foot dust :)

It's great :)

Littlepumpkinpie · 03/09/2013 23:36

I did my feet in these socks on Saturday and the peeling has started today looking good so far.

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 03/09/2013 23:39

Aren't we all lovely here? I am excited to learn of this! My feet are like hooves....I can't wait!

rockybalboa · 03/09/2013 23:50

YY to the Soap & Glory foot file. Also bought based on recs here and cannot believe how good it is. Pediegg and Scholl files nowhere even close. Footner sounds grim as but might be worth a try in winter when can hide shedding feet in socks.

Lavenderhoney · 04/09/2013 03:42

I bought the soap and glory foot scrubber but it didnt really do anything special- what am i doing wrong? Do you have to use it with something else? Thanks!

FreeButtonBee · 04/09/2013 09:20

Footer is awesome. Have a bath a day or two afterwards to speed up the process. i also give them a good scrub when in the shower with a scribby glove and that helped too.

Although I think my feet must be hardcore as I reckon I need to use it once a month for a while to get rid of the really gruesome skin. But they are a whole lot better already. I think it's also cleaned off residual nail polish on my toe nails as well, they are looking much cleaner and whiter. So much so, I am tempted not to paint them for a while. Normally I paint my toenails to hide them away!

Littlepumpkinpie · 04/09/2013 12:21

Well this morning I put my flip flops on for the school run as I was wearing a dress feet looked very dry and a bit peely underneath. Just soaked my feet ewwwwww the towel looked vile after I dried them. Stuck socks on with my trainers now as I am going out on my bike let the sweatiness of feet bring on some more skin shedding.
Yes we all sound a right bunch talking about grim feet skin just hope by Saturday I can wear my sandles for a night on the town.

MimsyBorogroves · 04/09/2013 12:23

I love the soap and glory file, except for the dust pile it creates.

Littlepumpkinpie · 04/09/2013 12:44

I think I must have had horrific feet, because they peeled all over but there is still dry skin on my heels and the balls of my feet. I'll wait a month or so then use the other one I bought.

minibmw2010 · 04/09/2013 20:48

I had slightly dry heels too but the cracks were gone and a little cream sorted that out. They're amazing now! ??

LapsedGoth · 04/09/2013 21:01

Nothing beats going to a podiatrist and getting them to slice it all off with a scalpel. Went a few days ago and I have feet like a baby.
