These are, I think, the perfect boots for me but...

Suede tends to look scruffy very quickly. Anyone seen something similar in leather? Not too bothered about he colour. I am short, so cannot wear knee or ankle high, have size 5 feet, very wide, at least EE; the heel should always be chunky and at least 4.5cm. Comfort is a must - I need to be able to walk miles in them.

If you find me something I'll probably love you Smile

I think I've seen something similar in clarks but with buckles have a look..... Why can't you wear ankle?

cupcake78 · 03/09/2013 07:47

They look lovely! I like them alot.

Ankle boots look awful on me, just awful. I don't know if it's because I'm short or because even though I'm a size 8/10, my thighs are on the heavy side, so they look very triangular with ankle boots. Almost knee high boots are the most flattering shape for me I believe. Re Clarks, do you mean 'national sugar'? They're nice but unfortunately the heel is too flat and the length of the boot too low.

Yes those are the ones I'll keep looking for you

MagratGarlik · 03/09/2013 08:34

I have these www.amazon.co.uk/Caterpillar-Black-Leather-Womens-Boots/dp/B005E69LH8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1378193314&sr=8-2&keywords=caterpillar+boots+anna

I am a similar height to you and these are great. I've had mine for three winters now and they still look good (unlike my last pair of Docs).

EarlyIntheMorning · 03/09/2013 08:47

Hi Magrat, thank you for this; I have seen those boots before and been tempted because they're beautiful, BUT they don't quite fit the bill as they are not high enough on the calf, and I have at least 5 pairs of boots that don't quite fit the bill already.

They're not suede, they're leather. 'Distressed' leather, but a good coating of polish and scotch guard and they should be fine.

tethersend · 03/09/2013 15:45

Or there's these but I can't tell if they're leather as on phone.

NoGoatsToe · 03/09/2013 18:52

These aren't cheap but I've just ordered a pair online so can't tell you how comfy or otherwise they are.

Tethers you beat me to it....
The boots ARE leather op

mewkins · 03/09/2013 19:17

I have them! Bought two years ago and still look great. Definitely not suede. They have a really nice toe shape and are very comfortable to wear. I recommend!

EarlyIntheMorning · 03/09/2013 20:13

Really mewkins?!?! Oh now I'm really excited! Could you tell me about the width please? I have really wide feet and suffer in pretty much everything I wear that isn't completely flat.

OP posts:
mewkins · 03/09/2013 20:32

Width is pretty wide I woukd say. Certainly I can wear tights and thick socks in mine and they still feel roomy (I get cold feet!). The heel is very solid and rubber so that's what makes them comfy I think. They are my favourite boots and I wear them a lot with skirts and skinny jeans/cords. They used to stock them in big John Lewis stores if you want to try on. Btw I got a size 6 (usually a 5.5) as knew I wanted to fit thick socks in and they are perfect x

EarlyIntheMorning · 03/09/2013 20:40

Mewkins thank you for that! Sorry to ask but do you have any idea how wide your foot is around its widest part?

OP posts:
mewkins · 03/09/2013 21:04

Right, just measured and my feet are about 9.5cms and the boots measure just over 10cms across the widest part.

EarlyIntheMorning · 04/09/2013 13:54

mewkins! did you measure your feet for me? Aw that's so sweet! Thank you! Thanks. I am 98% convinced...

OP posts:
mewkins · 04/09/2013 18:31

Haha yes I did! No problem

noisytoys · 04/09/2013 18:43

I have suede Dr Martens they are three years old now and worn for about half the year and still look great
