I got dragged into SuperDry by DD (11yo)

She loves clothes bless her so she wanted to buy SuperDry and Hollister clothes (with her money)

I told her "buy one basic T-Shirt and see how it washes and wear" (I did this with Uniqlo and I'm very impressed with them)

She didn't make me go to Hollisters (thankfull) I've heard about the perfume, the pitch dark and the model-like sales staff.

Soooo. SuperDry.
One T-Shirt. Nothing special. Flimsy. Tiny logo. £16.95
One with the logo across the chest £22.95.

She left empty handed . Even DD who is a bit star-struck with "names" could see it was over priced shit not good value.

BTW - she did get Vans and a Uniqlo coat so the little soul isn't doing a Daily Mail sadface

I agree it's expensive but interestingly my son's superdry t shirts wash and wear much much better than anything else I buy, including Nike t shirts at almost the same price...

Holister is worth it on a hot day.

Both my DD and DH wear Superdry and i can't really fault it.

It might look expensive on the face of it but everything we've had had lasted/washed really well. I think DD is going to grow out of the two t-shirts before she wears them out.

I've never braved Hollister myself, even DD is put off by the dark. Thankfully she's not obsessively into labels and will happily wear Primark/H&M with only the odd Superdry t-shirt.

In my experience Superdry is good quality. I've got a handful of Jack Wills that is certainly not quality. A&F (which I think is Hollister) is great quality too.

There is loads of Superdry in TK Maxx for reasonable prices.

I agree - Jack Wills is nowhere near the quality of Super Dry. Holister seems good though.

DD 13 yo got a sleeveless transparent shirt from Hollister last week with ther own money - £44.00 she spent for a net curtain. Even I, who can't profess to being sensible with money, was [shocked].

I might suggest she gets asweatshirt or hoodie top but the T-Shirt she saw (pink) was nearly transparent.

I think with branded goods it's a case of "In Yer Face" logos (like the Pauls Boutique quilted jackets) or if you know then you know and you don't need a logo.

In a way, I view it as advertising. I don't want to pay them to have my DD advertise their name.
Maybe I'm because even at 11yo she's willowy and tall and always puts colours together instinctively well.

I've never been in Jack Willis or Fat Face or A&F either. DS isn't a shopper and isn't label aware (13.6).

For Hollister/Superdry, I find that boys/men t-shirts are far better quality than those for girls/women. For some reason, they use a cheaper, thinner material that bobbles for women....

Superdry hoodies are better than those from Hollister for either gender.

Urgh, I hate all of them. I look like I'm sucking a lemon every time I'm dragged into one of them by DD. They're not even fun shops like Chelsea Girl & Snob used to be, they're just up their own ar$es!!!! or maybe I'm an old gimmer

I have to agree, my teenage son's Superdry t shirts have been worn constantly for at least 2 years and are still in good condition. I wish I could find comparable quality but without the overt branding in other places.

Ooh I love superdry, they probably hate me as I'm 43 and not the kind of person they want lurking around putting the teenagers off. But, while I avoid the 90% of the stuff that has "superdry" all over it, they do great plain t-shirts and vests and tops with long sleeves, my holy grail, and long bodies - and yes it is great quality. Also have 2 pairs of their men's joggers which are fab for lounging around.

Hollister is a TOTALLY different matter! I went in once and started sweating in panic as I tried to burrow my way out in the dark.

Oh and eBay is your friend, if you want cheaper superdry (or other similar labels).

I agree with MadAboutHotChoc that the mens/boys t-shirts in SuperDry are soooo much better than the girls. Ds has quite a lot of them (nearly all from outlet shop) and they wash brilliantly. Personally I don't have a problem with Hollister clothes either, dd has had several pairs of jeans which have been great - I just don't like the shop.

Hollister can indeed have a nice 'view' in summer.
Otherwise, the Birmingham one is plain odd. A dark 17century wooden house dropped in the bull ring. Weird.

Never bought anything. If DD1 does expensive it's Oasis, or total random, eg. A Wallis top she fell for in JL.

DD2(12) does branded a bit, Nike, converse, but she still fits children's sizes so we have avoided the above horrors so far.

The superdry stuff my dh and dd have wear well. It's not a bargain though.

DD loves Hollister. What a wretched place! I find it indistinguishable from Abercrombie and Fitch or Gilly Hicks. They are all dark, noisy, and smelly. Filled with cheap clothes. I think Hollister might be the worst, though. It has the ambiance of a frat house without the smell of bear.

Catham I really like that. Can I be nosey and ask what the sizing is like?

Any t shirt should last a couple of years, tesco ones will, so I'm surprised people are impressed the super dry ones last a couple of years.
