Le Pliage fans - what size?

I'm off on hols next week and need a bag for lugging my / toddler stuff on ferry, that will double as a beach bag to fit towels and swim stuff / snacks / further toddler stuff. So a non leather, massive tote, ideally with a zip. Have been in every shop in town with no luck - is Le Pliage worth the ££ and what size should I go for? I can almost justify it as I don't have a weekend type bag at the moment and it would do for that too.

it is totally worth it, and get the biggest one with long straps - much easier to carry.

Yes I have used the large one for such occasions I could totally justify it.

This size ?

I want it to feel like a handbag rather than a luggage bag iyswim. I do love it but need to justify it as a 'sensible purchase' - I will end up spending £25-£30 on a basic canvas tote that is nothing like as sturdy if I don't get it... practises justifying to DH so it's not too much more really.

I've had one for 2 or 3 years. It's really sturdy and still looks good. Not sure if the large will be big enough for what you want to put in it, depending on how many towels you want to take and how large they are. If its just a couple of towels, you should be ok.

I'm not sure the shopper will be big enough. I got one this summer and the quality is excellent. I got the medium travel one though. It doesn't feel huge but I wouldn't take it shopping, probably would feel like luggage. How many people does it need to cater for? Maybe someone could carry a towel which would allow you to get the large shopper, it might be more use in future.

Whatever size you end up with get the large handles!

Links people?! I'm getting confused looking at the different ones. I'll have to order it online I think so can't test. Is the one I linked above 'large shopper' long handles? It will ideally carry two beach towels (one big one small) and a few random bits - sun cream, compact change kit, water bottle etc. Ferry trip I don't envisage it being full at all but I will doubtless be a cart horse for snacks and random crap so would like a big enough bag for that.
