I liked a couple in the Boden catalogue but they've all sold out. Feeling a bit desperate and could make terrible error. Anyone seen anything vaguely nice. Saw one in Fat Face - florally brown thing - nicer than I've made it sound. Any other ideas?

It's not a tankini but I bought a costume (can be strapless or with straps) from boots the other day for a hen do and needed to hide my post baby jellybelly! It has a control panel and good bust support.

TheBlonde · 25/07/2006 09:16

I'm resurrecting this thread as I need a tankini too - no gap between top and bottom though - I need to hide the belly

Would prefer halter style
Needs to accommodate big boobs

Off now to the pool in a bikini back later

poisson · 25/07/2006 12:29

wear a bikni fgs
no one abroad wears tankinis

Twinkie1 · 25/07/2006 12:30

Look in the boden sale I got a couple that were nice and Next have a nice green spotted one in their new catalogue and have it in red in the stores!!!

Gingerbear · 25/07/2006 12:34

And they don't hide flabby tums anyway, they just ride up over them.
OK on skinny - moggel - boden type figures (ie size 8) but as cod says, only us brits buy them.
Trend as spied on Spanish costa last week was for bikini with halter neck and 'boy shorts' bottom bit.
Not for this bear though - too much norkage and boy shorts make my arse look like a small island

poisson · 25/07/2006 13:57

yes biknis with apnache are bette rthan swletering nder acres of polyester

FullOfTestosterone · 25/07/2006 14:10

Boy shorts? Is this fashion going to catch in the UK? What do the style gurus think?

I would luuurve to hide my "bikini area".... But would's they make saggy tummys even more noticeable?

poisson · 25/07/2006 14:11

no

MeAndMyBoy · 25/07/2006 14:20

Grr I love boy shorts but got told by a friend that you have to be super skinny to wear them. Umm thanks. There aren't that many in the shops over here though I have been looking over the last few weeks for a new pair.

Gingerbear · 25/07/2006 16:55

malory towers, dare I say it...........Matalan had brown cotton kaftans in.

Tutter · 25/07/2006 17:01

boden had a lovely crinkly kaftan (in brown tones) but it sold out in most sizes early on

i too have been known to sneak quietly into bhs swimwear dept in my time - have found a few things in there that don't have that vile sheen to them - sheen on swimwear = undulations where you didn't know you had them

Tutter · 25/07/2006 17:42

ooh strange i just checked theior site and they have more of the kaftans in - have just ordered one
