Need a top for a wedding

First time of posting on the Style section but I'm sure you lovely ladies will be able to help.

I'll be 23 weeks pregnant when I go to a friend's wedding. I've got a lovely Isabella Oliver skirt which I was hoping to wear - \link{http://www.isabellaoliver.com/io/Shop?DSP=30100&PCR=1:200:2020&IID=SK33\here}

I need to find a top, which won't cost the earth. Am a size 14 on top but with massive boobs - so don't want anything too low cut. Also needs to be suitable for sil's wedding at end of Oct when I'm about to drop...Can anyone help?

at the risk of sounding utterly dumb, why not get an Isabella Oliver top to match?
Any of the wrap tops can be adjusted for more or less cleavage to taste and will fit post-baby too.

Shivs - that skirt is gorgeous, looks so stylish and most importantly- comfortable. I'm with Mrs B why not get a plain'ish wrap over top from the same place and just dress up with necklace, sparkly shoes/bag/wrap???

I know, I know and I would if their prices were lower. I bought the skirt on Mumsnet - with baby number 2 arriving a lot quicker than we'd planned, money is a bit tight at the moment. Was hoping for a bit of colour - everything seems to be black or taupe on their site.....Why is shopping so damn difficult at times??!

aha, hadn't realised it was a budget issue
Is it the black skirt you've got?

Topshop B have a slightly cool cream scoop-necked tshirt with chiffon sleeves, also a twist-front vest in a retro flower print but their site is all Flash so I can't do a link, and they may not be suitable for a formal wedding.
Next have some rather pretty stuff, including a \link{http://order.next.co.uk/shot.asp?b=X37&p=200&s=3&n=undefined\sheer chiffon top with a vest underneath} that would look great with shoes, bag or hairthing picking out the pink.
Dorothy Perkins (Flash site again I'm afraid) has a few nice tops too - I like the mocha polka-dot one but it might be too much with the ruffled skirt.
If you can get to the shops H&M's maternity stuff is worth a look too.

Will have a look on those sites during my lunch hour Mrs Badger - thank you v much. Like the idea of pink as have some great pink shoes that I haven't worn since my honeymoon!!

Try Vertbaudet too, just had a look and they have a lovely wrapover cotton top (sleeveless) that is just 18 quid and they do it in fushia pink - might match your shoes. Might not bbe smart enough for the second wedding, but possibly could be if you add a wrap?
Have you tried ebay? Will try to think of some more sites

I've just looked on blooming marvellous and seen this in the sale section - \link{http://www.bloomingmarvellous.co.uk/product.aspx?CategoryID=Maternity_Sale&ProductID=12083&language=en-GB\here}
Do you think it'd go with the skirt?? My brain is rubbish at trying to work these things out without trying them on. Failing that, was thinking of \link{http://www.bloomingmarvellous.co.uk/product.aspx?CategoryID=Occasions&ProductID=12189&language=en-GB\this} - and just forgetting what I said about not being too low cut....
Really appreciate all your help - it's like having personal shoppers on tap, fantastic!!

both very nice - pink one would look fab with matching pink shoes and a black bag.

The black one could take a big statement necklace with pink in (maybe one like \link{http://www.marksandspencer.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=9076&Product_Id=1957727\this}, \link{http://order.next.co.uk/shot.asp?b=G30&p=202&s=1&n=undefined\this} or \link{http://order.next.co.uk/shot.asp?b=G30&p=202&s=29&n=undefined\this}), which would distract from cleavage a bit Wink, with pink shoes and bag.

\link{http://www.principles.co.uk/pws/ProductCategoryAttributeLink.ice?productsPerPage=48&paId=DEPARTMENT&value=BAGS&layout=departmentprod.layout\Principles} have a couple of nice pink ones, or try Next for \link{http://order.next.co.uk/shot.asp?b=G30&p=206&s=8&n=undefined\pale pink} or \link{http://order.next.co.uk/shot.asp?b=G30&p=206&s=6&n=undefined\one} or \link{http://order.next.co.uk/shot.asp?b=G30&p=206&s=3&n=undefined\two} in hot pink.

Shivs1974 · 19/06/2006 15:26

Oh so I'm not too bad at this - though I won't join in on finding things for other people as I truly am rubbish and think it was a stroke of genius finding those two tops!
Just remembered that shoes are hot pink so I guess the pale pink top wouldn't go and so it's probably best to go with black top - also am more likely to get more wear out of it once it stops being so damn hot!
