Do you tip at high end hair salons - and how much?

If a hair cut costs £80 with a normal stylist (not proprietor), for example, how much (if at all) do you tip?

What about the technician?

£10 -£20 tip for me and dd together. just cuts, no colour.

I tip quite generously (?20 if I am on my own, ?40 or ?50 if one or two of the DC are with me) because we all adore my hairdresser ( the whole family goes now) and he manages to get the DSSs looking respectable and both they and we are happy with their hair. And he's so nice and doesn't push me to dye my hair!

It depends.

If it's the owner of the salon, I don't tip. If it's an employee, I tip 15%, because despite the silly prices they're probably still badly paid.

97 GBP for cut and blow-dry and half head highlights. generally round off to 100 GBP.

sometimes I don't tip. but generally what's a few quid? nothing

also the salon takes cash and cheques (no cards) so as I pay cash I get out the whole amount so would feel mean taking the few quid left over.

I paid £150 today and tipped £5

She's worth every penny of it!
