What footwear to wear with these trousers

Hi ladies, just got these delivered and I really like them. Soft (slight moleskin), nice colour, reach my ankles, not high waisted (I'm 6ft). Only prob is that they look like skinny trousers on the website but they are not skinny on my legs calf down....so they wouldn't sit right in mid calf boots etc. I really want to keep them but what can I wear on my feet?

Would ankle boots work? Something like this ?

But personally I would get the trousers altered, to take out the fullness in the lower leg. Cheaper than a new pair of boots!

Ballet flats?

I've tried something like that....doesn't work at all. The bagginess sits on top of the trousers. Loafers look ok...but I get cold feet in the autumn/winter. Am thinking that they might shrink after washing....or I could get them taken in....I really don't want to take them back to the shop, i love them, but my legs are too slim obviously!

Ballet flats also look ok, just have the chilly feet problem again. Maybe by the time my feet need boots they will have shrunk enough.....
