Lowlights and colour depositing shampoo to blend highlights?

I have decided to grow out my highlights add they're starting to look brassy and my hair is feeling a bit crispy. My hair is long, past my shoulders and I am planning to have it cut into a long bob to get rid of the worst of the damage. I was also thinking about asking for some lowlights in my hair to blend it as it grows. I don't really want an all over colour - I did that last time and hated it so much I put the highlights back in Shock . Whilst browsing Amazon, I also discovered Wella professionals colour depositing conditioner in cool or warm brunette. Do you think the conditioner or lowlights will work and if so should I go for cool or warm tones? I think I am naturally cool toned but scared that might make the highlights go khaki Grin
