Round or v neck sweater with patterened shirts?

I have bought a very lovely patterened shirt from Uniqulo and I intend wear it when it gets cold with a navy jumper over the top. I can't work out if that jumper should be v neck or not! Any definitive answers? Thanks!

I prefer to wear shirts with a crew neck jumper on the top. I don't think there is a definitive answer though, just personal preference.

Thanks, I was leaning towards crew neck, just didn't want to make a massive sartorial error!
