It's that time again - what do you wear between flipflops and boots?

I need some 'in between' shoes that I can wear when sandal/flipflops weather is over (or when it's still warm but they're not appropriate eg work meetings) but it's not yet cold enough for boots.

I usually go for Converse or ballet pumps but the Converse are a bit casual for meetings and ballet pumps feel a bit over. What else could I try? I'll be wearing mainly jeans (skinny or rolled up relaxed skinny), chinos, cigarette pants and the odd skirt or dress. I hate slipper shoes but am up for trying something else new - links would be great.

Brogues? I am waiting for payday and a code to.get the pewter ones from Boden.

Sleepthief · 25/08/2013 07:26

Supergas? Brogues?

MrsCampbellBlack · 25/08/2013 07:29

If you want flats then pointed ones look a bit more current than ballet flats.

Leviticus · 25/08/2013 07:30

Now I still love ballets but have been wearing pointy ones for the last year or so, which are a bit different. No links sorry but there should be plenty about. Mine are black suede but I'm after a navy pair this year.

Leviticus · 25/08/2013 07:33

Ooh x-post with someone noted for stylishness! (feels even more chuffed with pointy shoes now Grin)

LadyMilfordHaven · 25/08/2013 07:39

Slip on shoes. Whichever style you fancy

daimbardiva · 25/08/2013 09:30

Loafers?

chartreuse · 25/08/2013 09:39

I have brogues which I wear a lot, I take out the laces, prefer the look.

Also there are lots of slipper style flats around which make a change from ballerinas.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 25/08/2013 09:46

I have loafers and converse.

Work I always used to wear court shoes regardless of the time of year.

amessagetoyouYoni · 25/08/2013 09:47

Not Supergas! Theyre too sporty and mumsy!

Lighter ankle boots, brogues or slim loafers?

CambridgeBlue · 25/08/2013 10:49

I do fancy some brogues but am unsure about the sock situation. Pointy flats sound nice, might look out for something like that.

I've seen some really nice pointy flats with a little ankle strap around too. I fancy some of those in pony print (not that I've seen such a thing irl though).

LadyMilfordHaven · 25/08/2013 12:19

Nb. Colours flats look dire with pencil skirts. Keep seeing pics of it. No no no

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/08/2013 12:22

I'm talking about wearing with skinnies or cigarette trousers.

LadyMilfordHaven · 25/08/2013 13:20

Yup

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/08/2013 15:07

Look what I found. I think I'm in love. Has anybody seen them irl?

CambridgeBlue · 25/08/2013 16:09

They're lovely Remus, something like that would look great with cigarette pants and skinnies.

Mumelie · 25/08/2013 16:32

I'm wearing tan loafers today with skinnies. Brogues I do with dresses/skirts for work. Converse for really casual (leather ones).

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/08/2013 16:33

I'll check out irl and report back.

CambridgeBlue · 25/08/2013 21:47

Ooh I really like those on the first link!
