Piece of silver jewellery for my niece?

She is being christened next month, and I'd like to buy her something that her parents can keep for her to wear when she's older.

My budget is about £75, though I was tempted by this baby bee necklace www.johnlewis.com/alex-monroe-baby-bee-pendant-neckace-silver/p231289367 Bees are a bit subjective though aren't they!

I don't want to buy anything religious. I know it's a christening, but it doesn't necessarily follow that she will want to follow a religion when she grows up.

Has anyone seen anything really nice in that price bracket?

Personalised silver jewellery.

I wouldn't. Just give some money or nice books. Silver will date and she won't wear it.

What about a string of pearls?

LadyMilfordHaven · 25/08/2013 08:31

Would you wear pearls now? Really?

I don't know what you mean.

LadyMilfordHaven · 25/08/2013 08:43

Don't buy her something you wouldn't wear

Check out lily belle on 'not on the high street' - they do lovely girls jewellery for when she is a bit older

I bought my Goddaughter a silver charm bracelet that I now add a charm to every birthday and Christmas. Usually something relevant to the year (eg silver crown for jubilee last year).
Not sure she'll wear it when she's older (predicting that is impossible) but think it's a lovely thing to have and tells a story of her childhood.

Check out indigo silver. So I can't seem to do a link on my phone but it has the most beautiful pieces. I am sure you would find something both timeless and unusual. It is my favourite place for 18 birthday presents etc.
