I have the critters all over my nose. They're stubborn as hell to remove. How do you get rid of yours?

I've got this - the poor girl's version of Clarisonic. It seems to have made a big difference. That, in combination with clay face masks and this

lucidlady · 24/08/2013 19:05

You've just reminded me that I have a clarisonic languishing in a drawer. DH bought it for me but I couldn't seem to get to grips with it. How often do you use yours?

Salicylic acid for blackheads. La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo is really good.

valiumredhead · 24/08/2013 20:17

Hot flannel and give then a squeeze !

cocolepew · 24/08/2013 20:18

I use tweezers.

Marylou2 · 24/08/2013 20:23

Hot cloth cleansing before bed with gentle squeeze. Clean cloth every evening! Clarisonic in the shower each morning with your favourite cleanser. Clay based masque twice a week. Hopefully this might help.

loopyloou · 24/08/2013 22:41

I read somewhere on MN that they aren't blackheads on your nose, can't remember what it's called though. Will try to find out and come back ...

suze28 · 24/08/2013 22:47

They're called sebaceous filaments. Do a search on here and there's some good advice. Sorry I can't link on my phone.

loopyloou · 24/08/2013 22:54

Thanks Suze. That's exactly what I meant Smile

AmethystMoon · 24/08/2013 22:57

I second La Roche Posay Effacleur Duo (probably spelt that incorrectly Hmm) it has totally cleared my nose of them. I started using it 6 weeks ago, it is magical! Grin

MummyWeatherwax · 24/08/2013 22:59

Clarisonic every morning has made a huge difference to my nose!

suze28 · 24/08/2013 23:03

Seriously AmethystMoon? I use the Clinique 3 step and mine are a bit better. Will look at LRP.

dirtyface · 24/08/2013 23:12

the OCM.

worked for me

AmethystMoon · 24/08/2013 23:23

Yes honestly. My skin is very oily and I have always had a nose covered in them Hmm I also suffer from acne around my chin and nose. I have stopped the antibiotic treatment from GP that i have used for over five years and researched an alternative. I can honestly say the Effaclar Duo has been excellent. I use it with the spot treatment they do from the same range and between them they have kept my skin almost clear. If I get a hint of a blemish I pop on the spot cream and it starts shrinking within hours plus less redness. I use the Duo morning and night ( only on t zone) and the vanishing blackheads has been an unintended side effect ( in so much as I bought it to stop my big acne spots).

AmethystMoon · 24/08/2013 23:24

It tends to go on 3for2 in Boots from time to time too Smile

suze28 · 24/08/2013 23:28

Thanks for the info on it. I don't have oily skin, just the nose filaments. I'll have a look online at the Duo. We've not long come back from a holiday in France where I could have got it much cheaper!

Callmedreckly · 24/08/2013 23:29

You need a Deaflannel! Grin

www.bravuralondon.com/dermaflannel.html

I got mine last week & its definately working. I look better already, skin is fab.

Callmedreckly · 24/08/2013 23:30

I mean you need a Dermaflannel! ffs. Blush

valiumredhead · 24/08/2013 23:38

Is that not just a piece of waffle fabric? I keep hearing good things about then but 12 quid for a flannel??

Callmedreckly · 25/08/2013 18:02

It really is good, Im quite shocked!
Skin looks and feels amazing.

this years Xmas pressies sorted

valiumredhead · 25/08/2013 18:10

Oh Ffs, you've convinced meGrin

Spookey80 · 25/08/2013 18:18

Sorry to gatecrash, but could someone advise me. i bought efflacar duo after reading on here at is is good for spots. I have been using for about 2 weeks with no difference, it just feels like a moisturiser to me, is that everyone else's experience? Have I bought e wrong stuff? Could some one pls link to the spot cream?

iheartdusty · 25/08/2013 18:24

my dermaflannel was working well until I popped it in the wash from which it has disappeared. DH has mistaken it for a duster or car rag and I will never see it again.

do you think I could just use a microfibre cloth from Poundland?

SundaySimmons · 25/08/2013 18:35

Spooked, none of la Roche posay's stuff has done anything for my skin. I've used the lip cream, it was greasy and didnt moisturise my lips at all.

The efflacar duo didn't do anything and I saw no change in my skin at all.

The wrinkle filler was awful, i couldn't wear make up over it!

I had an anti redness and a matti flying moisturiser, both absolute rubbish!

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/08/2013 18:39

I was going to say I bet their sebaceous filaments if they are all over the nose.

I use retin a cream in 0.1% and that hasn't shifted mine. My age spots are fading and my chin looks lovely but I can still see them on my nose.

They are a lot paler though.
