I need new boots for Autumn...what's going to be 'in'?

I had brown riding boots for a couple of years that died last year, and my black biker style boots also bit the dirt last winter.

I need new boots, but I know the long boots and tucked in jeans thing is a bit old now..just wondered what people will be wearing boot-wise this autumn?

I think I fancy something a bit girlier than bikers or riding boots, but they need to be practical for all the school run walking I do.

Any ideas?

OK - now, seriously, these are kids boots (have little feet) but do people think these would actually be ok as 'commute' boots with smart dresses and skirts?

Personally, I wouldn't buy non-leather, as I think it's a false economy. As another little-footed person, I'd consider children's ankle boots, but I think children's knee boots would come too low on the leg and look strange (but I don't like calf length boots at all so may be biased).

I know what you mean about mid calf boots suddenly feeling a bit dated...but I cannot bear ankle boots. They just dont look right on me.

I lived in some flat, black, over the knee leather boots last year. Looked good with thick tights and short dresses or jeans and jumpers. But need alternatives.

I think a good pair of classic riding boots still work, or am I totally out of touch?

I have just bought these. Need to buy some decent socks now though!
