It's your birthday. What would you like 'from' DC to the value of about £20??

Hello you lovely lot, hoping you can provide me with some inspiration! It's a close friends birthday next week, and I'd like to buy her a token gift 'from' my little DD. I'm lacking in ideas a bit - she's going to be 47, and is generally well groomed and looks after herself, she likes nice things. So, my question - what sort of thing would you like/what would make you smile in these circumstances? Thank you!

Helium balloons ?
A cute photo of her and your DD

Molton brown bubble bath or shower gel

BillStickersIsInnocent · 23/08/2013 22:55

Chanel nail polish
Ren rose bath stuff (although I think is more than £20)

Leviticus · 23/08/2013 23:18

Neal's Yard Rose facial oil - gorgeous.

Theironfistofarkus · 23/08/2013 23:21

A home made cake decorated by her.

Casmama · 23/08/2013 23:24

this is lovely- other things in the range.

mysteryfairy · 23/08/2013 23:30

Jo Malone - think maybe only the soap would be under budget. My DD loves sampling the fragrances so would like to pick one out
Nail polish in a slightly zany colour/finish chosen by the child
Quite like Zara scarves which tend to be just under £20

HotCrossBunsForAll · 23/08/2013 23:30

Oh I like all of these ideas, especially the cake - DD would love making that! Thank you!

If she likes cats, how about this super cute ring holder? Eleven quid...
If you do get a REN giftset use GIFTSET at checkout for 30% off until 1st Sept.
Anyhow, here is the cat:

BTW, there are some nice brollies in the Hobbs sale...free delivery to store but takes 5 days or so...

I also like the Ironfist's idea of a homemade cake... She could pipe a really nice message on it with your help :) I think gifts like that are more meaningful in general as there is an investment of time, care and love! :)
I do like the ring cat though! LOL

lurkingfromhome · 24/08/2013 08:44

Definitely a home-made cake and a bottle of Philosophy bubble bath (I think they do one in "birthday cake" fragrance).

What a lovely idea. If I got a home-made cake with wonky icing from a little child I would be so touched I think I would just weep with joy! Smile

HotCrossBunsForAll · 24/08/2013 08:52

The birthday cake fragrance bubble bath is such a good idea to go with the cake - love the cat ring holder though and may treat myself to that one!

Ren stuff is lovely.

Personally, a cake a child had helped make wouldn't be top of my list of great presents [awaits backlash]

Turquoiseblue · 24/08/2013 10:32

A little over the 20 but naked palette from urban decay maybe
Home made card Selection of pukka teas and Lindt chocolate and bubble bath and 1/2 hour no interruptions

mrspaddy · 24/08/2013 10:35

Clarins hand and nail cream... Also a little bottle of clear varnish.. Love the stuff

Marylou2 · 24/08/2013 14:59

Mini urban decay palettes eyes or cheeks. Both £20 in Debenhams. Lovely for presents.

gintastic · 24/08/2013 15:09

Could you take yr DD to one of those pottery painting places and make something from her?
