Wolford tights; are they worth the money?

I get fed up each winter with hoiking my tights up all the time, and thought that this winter, rather than buying numerous pairs of crap Primark tights, I'll buy a couple of pairs of really good quality tights instead that will hopefully last all winter.

Are Wolford ones worth the money? Are there any other good brands that perhaps aren't as pricey?

I don't know about Wolford's or how much they cost, tbh. I just ordered these with 20% off from Boden (thick knit ribbed). The reviews are very positive. The code, if you want to order, is MCES.
I hope I can return if they don't fit...this only just occurred to me... Bugger!

I've had quite a few pairs of Wolford tights, some very sheer,and also some opaque ones. They are definitely worth the money. Have had some brown opaque for at least 11 years. They do have some bobbly bit around where the top of my knee boot sits, but that is all.

Sometimes quite reduced in TKMaxx.

Wolford are amazing and well worth the money. Falke are also good but v long( I am only 5ft 2 so long is a problem)

They are good, but I've only ever bought them in the sales and even then they are expensive. They come up v big too, so haven't solved the hoiking problem for me! Personally, I prefer Charnos or M&S Autograph.

I'll add another rec:
M&S Autograph merino tights (thin they're 100 denier, so nice and thick..and warm). I've worn the same pair for three or four years now (not straight, you'll understand! Ha Ha!) and while there is slight bobbling here and there, the toes are all intact and no laddering. I think they're about £10 a pair and come in lots of nice, albeit conventional, Wintery shades (charcoal marl, plum, brown, black, navy) I'm hoping this year that they'll add in a nice bottle green or dark teal (the site's only showing black right now but I'm guessing they'll add more colours really soon).

Might be a bit expensive though well worth the money I would say.

Falke- from J Lewis- are marvellous. For anyone who likes TMI they have a proper gusset and proper toes. They cost £25 which seems barmy but they kept me really warm- as warm as leggings or trousers. I'm short too but the fit was fine.
I've also got some M&S Autograph merino and they are nice but not as thick.

I love Wolford opaque tights - they are practically indestructible! I have had several pairs which have lasted years. Well worth the money.

Well worth the money but I always buy on sale, as said earlier often to be found in tk maxx, but also often go to 70% off in other sales (especially if you are a fan of interesting coloured tights!).

Can't wait to get back into opaques and Wolford are my preferred brand. If you live in the North West a trip to the Wolford outlet at Cheshire Oaks is worthwhile.

I like Wolford but the black opaque ones I got weren't great, certainly no better than the M&S autograph ones (I get 60 denier).

I do have a few nude/patterned ones from Wolford though and they are FAB!

i am planning a revival of revealing my legs this autumn after years in trousers and oots, so will be going to the Wolford shop to see what they have.

I bought Falke sat year, two pairs costing £40. Biggest waste of cash, bobbled, lost shape and general disappointment.
Bought some Aristoc in the Lewis' sale, I'm hoping they will be better.

Absolutely! I have Wolford tights from 1990.

They are still absolutely perfect.

Wow Wolford tights from 1990 . That is so good that you can still wear them after all this time. I hope the ones I have can last me that long as I will save a fortune.

Tweet how did you wash your Falke's? Mine are still as new and I wash on a gentle wool cycle.

I prefer Aristoc and Falke as they have wide waistbands. I find Wolford really uncomfortable and tight round the waist, although they are lovely and last brilliantly. I can't stand anything tight round my middle, not sure why, I have a v small waist .

Mine are quite new too and washing on a gentle wool cycle too.
