when I make a ponytail, there are always bits of air falling out and I look scruffy... I have heard of the gel that you can put to make a bit more neat? please waht gel or mousse shall I use?

think that would look abit '90s' have you tried a bit of hairspray

Shock waves do a matt clay which is excellent for stray hairs as it leaves the hair still looking clean rather than wet

I have this problem too, but am wary of gel - don't want the 'wet' look.

will look out for the shock waves clay.

Ellnette is the only way for me, gel looks odd.

If it's the flyaways that cause problems, then a hairspray that doesn't make the hair all crunchy works well for me - Redken has one that is good.

I do like the ponytail Victoria Beckham has. You can see it here

Sporty Spice back in the Spice Girls days? Not a good look today. Use hairspray, elnet has already been mentioned which is excellent.

Spray your hairbrush with hairspray as you style it into a ponytail. That way, you don't get that rock hard look but it keeps the fly-a-ways under control.

def elnett, light control
