Where to get measured, no bra but whole body!

I've seen some jeans that I really like but they sell them by number, 28, 30, 32 etc.

This made me realise , I have no clue about my actual sizing. I just always get a 12 because it fits okay. When I've tried to compare my size with online descriptions I seem more of a 10 but it rarely fits!

Does anyone know a good place to get all measurements done, or can anyone give me a fools guide to doing it.

I think my waist is a 31, hips 39, bust 36 and inside leg 30 but when I tried the 26 jeans on, which matched my sizing, I couldn't get them on!

Anyone able to help a clueless one?

Isn't 26 a size 8? I'm a 10 and usually go for a 28 (although a 26 in Uniqlo as they are massive) I haven't actually measured my waist though.

If your waist is 31 why did you go for a 26? Confused surely either a 30 or 32 would be right?

They are uniqlo jeans so went by the sizing measurements on the site. I thought 26 was normally an 8 too but uniqlo sizing is different it seems.Shock

There is a place in London where you go into a scanner and they do made to measure jeans. There was a deal voucher for them recently on one of the websites - I'll have a quick look.

here you go

SorrelForbes · 22/08/2013 13:24

In jeans, a size 30 is pretty much always a size 12, 28 a 10, 26 an 8 and so on.

What sorrel says. Why did you go for a 26 if you measure 31 on your waist?

Tweet2tweet · 22/08/2013 16:54

Uniqlo measurements for 26 are, waist 32 and hips 37 3/5. I think they must run a different size system, I haven't bought a 26 in other brands but the uniqlo ones only.
I've emailed the customer service to get more info though.

That's interesting Tweet. I have Uniqlo skinny cords from last year in a 26 and they are so baggy now. I thought I was well skinny getting a 26 too Grin they should have signs up telling you this in the shop.

Thanks sweetheart, I'd love to give that a go but I'm way up north so not able too. Hopefully they'll open a booth like that near me Smile

I looked at the uniqlo size chart because I was curious about what you said. They seem to have both a static size chart which actually equates a uk size 12 with a 28/29 waist and a chart which gives the actual dimensions of the garment it relates to - not surprisingly this second chart varies for each style of jeans. I think you may have looked at the wrong one of the two charts to work out what to buy.

How far north are you? Selfridges in Manchester are pretty good at measuring for jeans and have a comprehensive range. I could also suggest a boutique in my small northern town where the staff are fab and will spend ages consulting and bringing you stuff to try. If you said where you were I bet someone knows one in your most local town.
