lacey vest under dress - tart or not?

Was round my mother's the other day and wearing a Fenn Wright Manson wrap jersey dress with one of these in nude under it (to save showing my norks), she commented was it my bra (cos of the lacey bit). Did get a few looks that day but I thought it was ok. someone please tell me I wasn't being a tart and showing what looked like a bra.

I wear things like that all the time, it's NOT tarty at all! It's hardly like you had a v-neck to your waist and were happily showing off all you've got! Don't worry about it at all.

I wear pretty lacy camisoles with low V necks all the time and would say it's actually a pretty modest look. Can't really see the problem - and I'm probably closer to your mums age than yours!

I do usually wear darker coloured camis ( black navy berry grey) but that's only because I think they suit my skin tone best.

You can even buy 'pretend' camis called 'modesty' triangles that are not quite a full cami- so tell your mum about those!

What I do think is tarty are black bras under sheer white or lacy tops which are worn for the 'effect' of showing your under garments.

I don't like black bras under white either, I think it just looks horrible. I have a couple of bandeu thingys in different colours to go under tops with either large arm holes or under lacy or sheer things because I don't want my bra on show.
