Ankle boots - can't tuck skinny jeans in...

Hi - I am being really daft but I just ordered some ash Nevada boots - these and ash spiral boots - these. One pair is going back.- not sure which yet. But how do you wear them with jeans?? My v skinny tight jeans don't tuck into them (as they are not quite jeggings). I'm happy wearing them with short skirts/dresses and bare legs but can't imagine them with dark opaques in the winter. So, do you think they can only be worn with jeggings (which I don't own) or bare legs?

As I said, very daft question ...Blush

Not a daft question at all. In fact, I was wondering the same thing! So presumably the Ash boots don't fit close enough to the ankle to allow skinny jeans to just casually wrinkle over the top? Like a shoe boot would? I was almost tempted to order the Ash boots but won't do now...I saw some suede wedge ankle boots in White Stuff in a wine colour which might do the job. Glad it's not just me! I think you need to try them on. The ash boots are lovely but, yes, higher than a shoe boot - will try wrinkling them though... Maybe the 'v' front on the spiral boot won't work with that though - however, it's more flattering in bare legs (stops legs looking like they've been cut off just above the ankle...).

In fact, the ash boots are soooo nice (both styles) that I might buy some jeggings to try with them before I decide whether to return them.

Hope the white stuff boots work!

Have you actually tried jeans with ash spirals or are you just anticipating a problem? Only ask because I find there is tons of room and I can easily fit jeans in, even if they are not dead skinny. I think there might be an issue with tucking in if the jeans were not quite long enough though - could longer jeans solve things?

BeginnerSAHM · 21/08/2013 15:14

Hi mysteryfairy - yes, have tried them... Both pairs arrived today. The jeans are long enough but just look saggy and a bit bulgy round the ankle area so not at all flattering. I have v skinny calves though so maybe that's why. Think I need some ultra skinny jeans... (Wasn't intending to buy a new wardrobe to accommodate the boots though Blush!)

Thick socks could be your answer or leg warmers. Wear them ruffled around the ankle in either chocolate brown colour or a similar colour to the boot. This also works well with thick tights to 'plug the gap'.

Oh, interesting idea hopasholic! Never thought of trying that... Will give it a go once sprogs are asleep!
