So I measured myself but the bras didn't fit....

Yes, I'm sorry, another bra thread. But I just can't seem to glean the info I need from existing ones. I measured 30'' under bust and 38'' hanging down. I think this makes me a 30ff? But all the ones I tried gaped hugely at the top. I scooped and everything! If I try a smaller cup size my boobs don't fit all the way to the bottom... I think I need to try some balcony bras? I've always worn the t shirt bra up until now.

Any advice would be great!

I'm guessing you have more fullness at the bottom of your breasts? If so, then you're correct, balconettes are the way to go. It sounds like you're filling the bottom of the cup so I wouldn't sixe down at the moment (although it's always wise to try a variety of sizes in each new bra e.g 30F/FF/G).

There are some good balconette style bras out there which can be worn under t-shirts e.g. the Cleo Juna, Panache Idina Balconette.

Are you able to make it to either Bravissimo or John Lewis. Huge differences in measurements between brands and they will be able to help you with different styles.

Yes they are looking slightly empty at the top! We've just moved town and I think we have a John Lewis here, will go hunting later. We also have Debehams and M&S although the latter was hopeless!!

I wouldn't bother with M&S, the bras aren't great (don't get me started on the fitting service!). Debenahms and JL usually stock a good selection of bras in a 30 band (with the exception of the JL in Exeter!) but the fitting in JL is probably of a higher standard.

The M&S bras wee pretty awful Sorrel, I agree. I am short and the top of the cup was ridiculously high on me. They also had a very poor selection in my size or the sizes either side. DS had fun trying them on with me though!

I can't even walk through the lingerie floor of my local M&S, it makes me too angry

I can see this being the diet of thing I get too 'into', now that I know. Have already told my cousin (who's always bemoaned being an A cup) to re measure herself!

*sort of thing, not diet. Fat fingers strike again!

I'm am very obsessed interested in bras and how they fit. Some would call me a bra bore but I prefer bra evangelist Grin

flootshoot · 19/08/2013 12:36

Or bravangelist, if you will Grin

Yes! Grin

Well, I went Debehams, tried on a few and much happier with the fit. Then I found a set of two t-shirt bras, one nude and one black, reduced from £18 to £5.40 for the pair. Win!
