Dress for wearing with flat shoes!

A bit of a bizarre request, but bear with me!

I am a big fan of wearing lovely strappy shoes with the highest of heels, however I have been suffering from a chronic back problem all year so am now stuck with flats. It's not too bad on a daily basis as I wear ballet pumps, converse or havianas, but I'm going to a party next week and need to dress up a bit. I am completely stumped - what dress can I wear that will look good with flat shoes, and what flat shoes should I wear with it??

I'm 5'4 and a size 10 with a big bum so need something to balance it out!!

You are a size 10 so your bum can't be that big!

It's summer so the obvious flat party shoes are twinkly sandals. Dune have lots of lovely ones.

As for the dress, you could get away with a short tunic style, short or long sleeved. Monsoon normally have some nice ones in exotic prints. With flat shoes it's a cute 1960s look (I think so, anyway!)

I generally dont wear heels as Im 5"8 and tower over everyone.

Ive been to two christenings recently and wore flat shiny black pumps with little bows on them.

First dress was a cream dress just above the knee with a black built in sash (its nicer than it sounds!)

Second was a loose fitting maxi dress so didnt really see my shoes!

I have my own dcs christening in Oct and have a black dress for that and was considering nude heels about 3in so not crazy high but id literally be 6 foot so not sure, my trusty black pumps would go though they just dont feel as glam as heels esp when every other woman is wearing them (and all the women on dh's side are rich and glam Hmm )
