How to be stylish when you're short and hippy?

I am 5 ft 3, size 10 to 12 with widish hips. Am petite in tops but not in trousers. Where should I shop and what styles should I go for? We're on holiday in Mallorca at the moment and the Spanish women of all ages looking stunning in short dresses. I've got a fat face dress on because it shoes my waist but not too tight for hips. Feel like a frump tho.

A bump from me as I would like to know too. I'm even shorter (5 ft 1), size 10 with the aforementioned wide-ish hips and fairly chunky legs from lots of running. Other than losing what seems like an impossible amount of weight in order to get back to my waif-like teenage self, how does one look non-frumpy when small but solid?

I bought a paid of the 7/8 length gok trousers in sainsburys and they are the best fitting troos I've ever had. I'm in between the regular and petite lengths.

I would embrace your curves, 10-12 is not frumpy. Nipped in waists, that are actually on your waist, structured dresses, think mad men. For holidays tea dresses and sandals.

And because I have become evangelical about this, get properly fitted for a bra on one of the guru threads. Won't make you hips smaller but might balance you out I don't know yr shape or bra size so I am speculating!

Thanks both. The right fitting dress is like hunting for the holy grail. So many look like a cleaner's tabard on me. Mustnt be a line or gathered or shapeless. Reiss dresses look nice but look a bit overdressed.

I am considerable fatter than you, however I have just bought this dress for a wedding and it is very flattering

Which goes against your no a line rule but my hips are massive and look at least a size smaller in this.
