Why are the charity shops in Melksham overflowing with Boden stuff?

Okay, slight exaggeration, but I saw lots of it yesterday. And none of it was the right size or gender for me or any of my 4 children!

Well in my opinion too many mums are buying from Boden and they are having frequent clashes of outfits. If all and sundry are buying Boden it may as well be off the local market as it isnt very special. Time to be individual with your childs style.

Is it an affluent area?

When I go charity shopping, I go to a nearby town where the average income is double what it is here. They sell more quality clothing, and it is picked over a lot slower.

I am probably what is known as a 'pikey'.

Used to get good buys in Devizes - 'tis all the money that rich country folk have! Think they leave clothes in thier second homes then discover that their children have grown out of them by the next visit. Stripy pull-ons were de rigeur for children.

I also have 4 children and shop for them in charity shops and I am within an hour's drive of Melksham. They are boy (10), boy (8), girl (6) and boy (3). Is it worth my while driving down?

PS And what sort of thing is Boden anyway?

cos nothing is the same colour in RL as it looks in the catalouge and they never got round to doing a rtn??

Not much else in Melksham DG! You could do a raid on Melksham, Devizes and Trowbridge though. Never tried Marlborough but I bet there are rich pickings there!

Oh I know Melksham well enough! I taught there once. I agree Marlborough might yield more.

I now have a rather bizarre image going round my head of MNers charging around Wiltshire's finest charity shops, looking for Boden bargains!

A small portion of Melksham is affluent, the rest is really not.

Dumbledore's girl, not sure I can define Boden but what I saw yesterday was nice on the whole. I think they sent me a catalogue once and I spluttered a bit at the prices before recycling it. Melksham's not bad for charity shops though, there are four, and the Dorothy House one is always very well-stocked.
Devizes is good too, so maybe worth making a day of it and doing both.

So if Melksham's charity shops are empty next week, I shall know it's all my fault - although I suppose it would help the charities!

FioFio, Devizes seems to have a nice atmosphere. It's Trowbridge I really dislike (although their charity shops aren't bad!)
n.b. I judge all places on their health food shops and charity shops

There are a lot of good charity shops in Chippenham though some of them are overpriced and only stock 'designer' clothes. There is also a clothes stall in the market on saturday that sells new ex chainstore (m&s ext.)childrens clothes and some of their stuff is really cheap.

Trowbridge not my cup of tea either. Devizes is much better.

You don't need to travel anywhere for Mini Boden clothes, check out Seller Kaloo20 on Ebay tomorrow afternoon when I get all our 'too small' Boden clothes up during their 10p listing day.
