Bridesmaid dress: How to wash?

DD has just been a flower girl at a recent wedding and I'd like to wash it before putting it away.I'm a bit apprehensive about putting it in the washing machine although the label says to do so. It is very delicate with lots of lace detail, net skirt and beads etc. I'd like to ask anyone to share their experience of cleaning a bridesmaid dress and whether it turned out okay. Thank you.

DD has this dress here

No.doesn't mention dry clean at all. It says wash separately or with similar colours. I would normally wash something delicate by hand in case it catches on the wheel.

I washed my wedding dress in the washing machine. It had lots of beading on.

I turned it inside out, and put it inside an empty duvet cover for protection, washed at 30 on a slowish spin.

Was perfect - I wished I had washed it before I wore it.

It probably has a circle with a cross through it which means do not dry clean. Is it polyester? Either way if it says wash it will be fine . Turn it inside out and wash it on its own with liquid delicate detergent on a delicate setting . Get it out straight away and hang it on a hanger . Smooth it as it's dries.

Most wedding dresses up to the £3500
Mark are made of polyester and wash very well. There is a company making a lot of money from professionally cleaning wedding dresses. ( they wash them!!!) for a lot of money !

Yes, I put my daughters formal dress in washing machine. It was heavily decorated with sequins so I put in in one of those net wash bags washed it on a silk wash and Hey Presto it was good as new :)
