Should I take plunge and colour hair darker....

I have had highlights for years but a mixture of having young children, no time or money is making me think about going darker to have less maintenance.
I'm thinking about colour and style in this picture. I have hazel eyes, am quite pale with some freckles and my natural colour is mousy. I currently have blonde highlights and a fringe with shoulder length hair. My hair is straight and fine. I've an oval shape face and I am told by some people that I look quite like Uma Thurman (I wish!)
So what do you think, is this a nice style and do you think it would suit me?

It's a nice colour and sounds like it would suit you, but I don't see how the cut is different from your current one, apart from being longer?

Thanks kezztrel, the style in pic has layers in it and mine is all one length. Not a huge change but am not sure i could manage colour and very new cut in one sitting!
