Men's formal shoes - size 40, I need help!

Dh has quite small feet for a bloke and finding shoes has always been somewhat challenging, he's I've been looking for a pair of shoes that have classic styling but with importantly, a non leather sole as he walks around London in the rain a lot and has ruined too many leather soled pairs.

Budget is up to around £200.

Re the sole: I always buy leather-soled shoes, as the wear better, but take them straight to the cobbler's to get the non-slip patches applied (not sure what they're called in English). It only costs a few pounds and the shoes will last much longer!

As regards the size, can you buy an 8 and put leather in-soles inside?
40 is a 7 1/2, so it's only a half-size you need to make up?

My hubby also has small feet, and mainly buys Italian shoes as they apparently fit better Hmm

Thanks VitC. No can't even buy a size 7/41, buying in shops is pointless as they never have his size. Tis a right pain in the bum. Used to get his shoes soled when we lived abroad, but on return haven't really found a good cobbler and no doubt where we live putting soles on shoes would cost at least £40! Re-heeling costs £15. But it may be the only solution.

Try looking online. Like I said, my husband only buys Italian brands and, although expensive, they seem to be great quality - and he can usually get his size.

I don't have time to look right now, but have you checked out www.yoox.com?
