How can I update my (casual) work wardrobe on a budget?

Desperate for some new clothes for work but not much money to spend (thinking Primark/Ebay budget, if that!)

At the moment I wear nude wedges or flats with fitted-ish chinos or slim dark jeans, and some kind of top. (Would love some dark green/khaki fitted chinos but can't find any anywhere, except on other people! Where have they all gone??)

Need more tops - at the moment they're all rubbish either too baggy/floaty (covering up a bit of a tummy on a skinny frame) or too tight (showing off saggy tummy!) So looking for something quite funky and fashionable but not fashion victimy. I work with older teenagers and adults from various nationalities (middle east etc) so like to be quite covered up. And I have a blazer fetish Grin

I'm a size 8, 30ish, don't like things that are skintight but don't like too baggy Sad What do I want??

I kind of like this tucked into chinos, but also love chunky boots + socks + leggings type things too, with some kind of top.. Can any stylish people help sort me out on a budget? I would be eternally grateful, and have saved you the last sqaure of my Galaxy Smile

Have you tried H&M? I buy quite a lot of my work clothes there - similar prices to Primark but I feel the quality is better. Very good if you catch their sales - I got a great pencil skirt for £3 once and many items less than £10!

If you want tops to go with your chinos wear your chinos to Primark and pick up every top that remotely catches your eye in your size and a size up and have a mammoth try-on session. Don't restrict yourself - try colours/styles you've never bought before - you might be surprised what looks best.
