I want to dye my hair so that I never have to dye my hair again...help!

Had colours done (am a deep summer, so cool-toned) and the consultant advised against dyeing as dye always fades to a warm colour.

I can see she is right, which is all very well, but my hair is already dyed and yes, a bit coppery.

Is there any kind of 'light ash brown' type dye, that I can put on it so that I am not left, as I am now, with 2 inches of brown root and coppery ends.

Or a shampoo which will tone down the contrast?

Or should I just shave my head?

There's a good Superdrug own brand one, my sister used it to get rid of her roots. I can't remember the exact shade but it's not even slightly coppery once it's on

I would use a nice and easy light ash brown semi permanent (or anything that says 'ash' that's near your colour, and use a silver shampoo as well to tone down anything brassy that might turn up? I get mine in Bodycare, it's cheap.

You can strip it of colour ( it will go orange) then dye to to your natural colour. A semi permanent shouldn't go brassy.

Thanks all. Bit scared to strip it as have heard it damages your hair and mine is pretty weak at the best of times.

Would the nice n easy not eventually fade to a coppery colour?

Why don't you have your hair cut short while you are growing it out?
