Dh finds my dad very funny, my dad is 53 and a bit of a chav, he has a sports car complete with body kit and Max Power stickers, he dresses in cheep sports wear and bleaches his hair Blush, to top it all off he came over a few days ago wearing Hitec sandels(black) with white socks on, Dh could hardly contain himself and had to leave the room (i could hear him laughing in the kitchen).
I can't bring myself to tell him how odd he looks!

thats the style for gthe men at that age unfortunately !!

You can't. It's the law that dads have to wear white socks & black or brown sandals!

SenoraPostrophe · 13/06/2006 15:51

what do you mean they don't go?

Bozza · 13/06/2006 15:53

You can't. My Dad goes to Church wearing slacks, shirt, tie, blazer and...... sports sandals, with or without socks. Not a good luck. Especially when the navy blazer is liberally sprinkled with dandruff.

tell him that all the trendy young lads are nw daring to actually go barefoot in their sandals!..if he thinks he'll be cool he might change his ways?Smile

I can't get over the fact that he's wearing sandals, i've never seen my dad wear sandals before Shock

Hilarious. Have had this same conversation with a colleague today (he's in his 60s).

After some gentle teasing we decided to let him be, cos it's just the sort of things men his age do!

And then I remembered the school sandals and H&S issue thread and told him he shouldn't be wearing sandals at work anyway!!

ROFL - solution thanks to MN.
