I normally use Estee Lauder Double Wear but I think it's ageing me....I know everyone raves about the Bourjois foundation on here but it is suitable for oily to combination skin ?

Yes. I have oily skin and I have used it. 2 people commented on it and asked me what make-up I used. Make sure you get the foundation though and not the serum.

I have switched back to double wear as I prefer the coverage it gives but mix it with Soap and Glory's Hocus focus to soften it a bit as I agree it can settle into fine lines.

I have the foundation, not the serum, and it works fine with my oily skin.

I also quite like Estee Lauder Double Wear Light - which is sheer to medium coverage, and for more coverage (medium coverage) I absolutely love Diorskin Nude.

Thanks for that. Pinupgirl - were you not so keen on it then even though you got nice comments ?

Overall my skin isn't too bad but I have the odd acne scar. Is the coverage buildable ?

Yes I did like it but prefer the very full coverage of double wear-although I tend not to wear it every day as it does get a bit mask like.

I bought some bourjois stuff today actually as is 3 for 2 in boots-got the smoky eye trio in bleu, blusher in rose brun and kohl liner in bleu jean. I think its very good quality for the money.

Oh balls, is the serum one bad for oily skin? I just bought a tube this week, haven't used it yet.

Pinupgirl · 09/08/2013 22:02

I found the serum one a bit gloopy and don't think it gives as good coverage but I suppose it depend how you like your make up. I like to look "made up" iyswim?

GoingVerySlowlyMad · 09/08/2013 22:18

I love the serum one! I have combination skin with an extremely oily t-zone and have had no problems. I find I get the best results when I put it on with a brush.

I like to look polished Grin without looking overly made up. Turned 39 a fortnight ago and seem to have a hundred new wrinkles overnight. Is this best with a primer?

I've never used a primer and am quite happy with the results, I would try it and see. If you want more coverage you might be better using a primer and the foundation not the serum. I find the serum is a light to medium coverage.

evertonmint · 10/08/2013 12:27

I have combination skin and have been using the serum for a week. It suits my skin really well but is only light to medium coverage. No problems on t zone.

Does the foundation have more coverage than the serum then? Just wondering why you'd pick one over the other? I don't know why I went for the serum tbh!

Pinupgirl · 10/08/2013 15:58

Yes having tried both I would say the foundatiojn does give more coverage than the serum. I found the serum slid off my face by mid afternoon.

Double lasts for ever but you have to use it sparingly or it can make pores look worse I find.

Ok, so I bought the foundation on Saturday and used it yesterday and today. It's bloody brilliant isn't it !! Doesn't last quite as long as the Double Wear but I don't mind as the pros outweigh the cons on this one. The coverage is actually really good and the finish is just gorgeous. Doesn't settle into any pores and the lines are still there but not as noticeable. When it's faded it fades evenly too which is good as it doesn't look patchy. I think I've been believing I've needed more coverage than I actually do these last few years.
