does anyone actually think birkies are flattering...?

I love toe posts! Find them much comfier and stay on more easily too. Have just bought a nice pair of 2" wedge heeled sandals from Jones which are suprisingly comfortable but not for the dash up to school that I'm about to do. For that I need my trustworthy, comfy toe post Wrangler sandals - any more toe post lovers out there or is it just me? Shock

NomDePlume · 13/06/2006 15:08

I lurve my toe posts too.

nailpolish · 13/06/2006 15:09

yep they are fab

Bozza · 13/06/2006 15:11

I love toe posts too.

Prufrock · 13/06/2006 16:03

I've had the brown ones for about 2 years now and they are still looking good and my absolutely fave pair of summer shoes - toe-post doesn't rub at all.

Tutter · 13/06/2006 16:10

prufrock - the brown ones are to replace identical white ones that i bought 3 years ago (and have worn on sunny days ever since) - agree, so comfortable.

Gingerbear · 13/06/2006 16:10

me and moo = wearers of comfy shoes.
I don't do toeposts.
Cheapo Birkie rip-offs wear out quicker and the footbed stink and the suede crinkles.
I don't have horned hooves any more thanks to Cod's marvellous footcream.

Tutter · 13/06/2006 16:11

GB see my comment about durability - i think these are as good, honest Grin

OP posts:
Gingerbear · 13/06/2006 16:12

I might consider, sans toeposts.

SoupDragon · 13/06/2006 16:13

I@ve got the brown ones of \link{http://order.next.co.uk/page.asp?b=X37&p=272&o=1\these} - the picture of 3 sandals, turquoise, brown and white. They're fab as I was able to punch an extra hole int he strap to accomodate my thin flipper like feet :o

Tutter · 13/06/2006 16:14

soupy - they're like the birkies i hate (gathering dust in wardrobe, white, size 38 - you're welcome to em!)

OP posts:
Cod · 13/06/2006 16:15

i have thin feet adn fint a long toe post doesnt suit them

Frenchgirl · 13/06/2006 16:27

birkies!!
eeeeeekkk
they make me look like a caricature lesbian

Bozza · 13/06/2006 16:33

cod by a long toe post do you mean like the one that soupie linked to? I have wide feet and struggle with them although actually I think it is my high arch that is the problem.

SoupDragon · 13/06/2006 16:37

My flippers are a 40 :o And very narrow and these ones are fine, Cod. For me the key is the fact that they're adjustable so fit snugly across my foot.

Alipiggie · 13/06/2006 16:39

Toe posts are all the rage in the US

just bought \link{http://www.chacousa.com/products/ProductColors.cfm?cID=9&pID=16\these}

wanderingstar · 13/06/2006 17:38

Anyone tried Mephisto ? They are the only toe post sandals I can wear - very good quality. OK, not fairy - like and elegant but very comfy if you're on your feet all day.

LotosEater · 13/06/2006 17:43

I'm gutted - was trying on Birkies in JL today and found them uncomfortable - and I so wanted to buy a pair after all the hype on MN Sad

spidermama · 13/06/2006 17:50

I put up with my ugly, manly feet in Birkenstocks because of the comfort. That's the sad truth. I always buy patterened or nice coloured birkies and wear nail varnish and a toe ring which goes some way to feminising the outcome, but it's a compromise.

Soupdragon, I bought something similar in Shoe Zone (?) last year for about £8 in a pinky/orangey colour.

V comfortable - I have skinny flippers too!

What about crocs, does anyone like those?

Alipiggie · 13/06/2006 21:35

Since we live in the land of Crocs - Boulder designed - we all wear them. The little ones for kids with the jibbitz - add on ladybugs, fish etc etc are brilliant. They are comfy and waterproof need I say more.

MrsSchadenfreude · 13/06/2006 22:17

I love my German lesbian feet.
Have Papilio which are quite funky and a pair off gross brown arizonas. DH asked me when I was getting the dungarees.

motherinferior · 13/06/2006 22:28

I have such flat feet that Birkies hurt them Blush
