Hi!

It's a big night out with the girls, haven't been out since way before our 8 month dd was born and I'm a delicious shade of gross.

I really need some fake tan and quick! What would you wise ladies recommend. I have no idea where to start, which brand? Or should I go and get it done professionally?

I'm going to end up an orange streaky mess aren't I Sad

To be honest I think wash off tans give a more natural colour than fake tans. How much skin will you be showing?

If you are new to the world of fake tan I would get it done professionally. It took me a few goes to get it right.

I am rubbish at doing fake tan and don't find the build up ones work very well on me, I find Fakebake the easiest to use and a good natural looking colour. If you can, treat yourself to a salon one, takes some of the stress out of it, have it done the day/night before as you usually need to leave it on ages and then wash it off the next morning for an even colour.

St tropez works everytime for me, never any streaks and natural looking. Apply the night before, it develops over night then wash off the following morning to reveal the tan. Warning - before you wash off the excess it will look awful and streaky, don't be alarmed, this is also why I put it on at bedtime, so no one sees me prior to my showering in the morning. Do use old bed clothes though as it stains a bit. Go light over knees, elbows and ankles, I use one of their foam gloves, helps spread it evenly and protects your hands. If you do get any on your hands wash it off immediately. I like their foam best.

Thanks I'm still deciding what to wear but I think it'll be mostly legs on show.

If I get it done professionally, how does it look before I wash it off the next day? I have to drive 3 hrs tomorrow evening so would be out and about in whatever state the salon leave me in.

I've had fake bake and st tropez done professionally, to be honest they both looked pretty awful before washing them off. That was years ago though, I always do it myself these days, so it might have improved?

If you're only showing off your legs I'd recommend Fake Bake's Faux Glo wash off tan. Very natural finish.
