That won't bobble in the wash.

Where do you buy the holy grail of sweaters?

I want one too - in navy

I got mine (grey and one navy) in Uniqlo. But I handwash them. If you are not close to one of their shops I think you can also buy online.

Zara has one at teh moment which is charcoal grey and black.I have the cardigan version of it and it's remained immaculate despite appalling abuse.

Hopeful bump. This is the sort of thing that M&S ought to be able to get right in their cashmere range, but nope, they think we want snowleopards or dalmations on our jumpers.

The black one I have is a very old silk and wool mix one from Hobbs, but it's getting a bit short and wide now from lots of handwashing. I threw all of my grey ones out because none of them were, 'the one' but now I can't find a decent one anywhere. :(

I was going to say zara also. Not purchased rcently but I've bought loads of their 70% cotton 30% nylon (tight knit) ones for work in recent years and they have worn great. Also very cheap at around £10-12

Zara are always my best bet for sweaters. They?re not ridiculously pricey and they last for years without getting bobbly in the wash.
