What to wear for wedding (FIL & his dp, pushing the boat out a bit)?

FIL getting married for third time, bless him, quite formal, dh will be in morning suit to match his brothers...

Am v tall, size 18 & live in black - can cope with purple/dark red/dark green at a pinch (goth tendencies). Hate girly frocks. Would dig out wafty Monsoon skirt & add respectable top if mate's wedding, but feel more effort required.

Would also like outfit which can be worn again so nothing TOO wedding-y. Any suggestions?

Principles have some lovely things at the moment. I have just bought a dress for a wedding there....purple and blues and pale green. It is crushed silk and has a sash round the waist. Im going to hire a fascinator thing for my hair instead of a hat.

There are lots of things around .....Monsoon are great as is Coast and Laura Ashley. I always hire hats instead of buying as they are so expensive to buy.

I saw that dress in Principles! It's lovely but sleeveless I think? I have an old, faded tattoo on my shoulder which I'm quite fond of (souvenir of rock chick youth! Grin) but which is prob best covered up on this occasion - it is a bit scruffy...

& still wittering about this...

How about this? \link{http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/web/main/ProductDisplay.asp?LP=Product&An=0&A=72J691%5F10&N=534+4294967211&Au=P%5FMasterItem&Nu=P%5FMasterItem&Ns=P%5FColour%7C0%7C%7CP%5FSize%7C0&added=1\skirt}?

With either a 3/4 sleeved black top OR black camisole + shrug (& sod Trinny & Susannah no colours with black nonsense)

I really like the skirt..... think it needs to be with a "matching" colour rather like the jacket in the pic though (although not keen on style of jacket)
