two big receptions + zero fashion sense = disaster!

Am a long term lurker emerging for help! I have two 'big' wedding receptions coming up, one in the autumn and other mid-winter, need a decent dress for both (diff set of friends some no same-dress anxiety). I'd love a blue laced dress with sleeves, adore This but it's too short!
I'm 50's, ok figure - large of arse, smallish waist and loathe my upper arms - size 10-12 5'5" with a ceiling budget of £250 ish.

Have been looking online for days now; everything is either out of stock, too short or a slightly different style.
I HATE shopping and this is beginning to get me down, so any advice would be much appreciated!

Lace dresses are everywhere ATM, and with your generous budget it might be nice to go for something else. What are your requirements?

Sleeves?
Knee length?

They are both lovely and thank you! Was looking for lace though, no detail on dress otherwise, just scoop neckline preferred.

Sleeves definitely, 3/4 is ok, prefer dress at knee length, not sure any higher is ok at my age (dd says no!) happy to look at other colours but have bought nude heels at fab price in sales and would like to wear with those! Thank you for looking!

Have you tried on the DvF dress? Don't forget tat models are about 10" tall, and it will look shorter on you.

The Hobbs royal blue dress is awful, truly truly dreadful.
I ordered it thinking I was going to a slinky glamorous minx and instead look like a badly wrapped bag of spuds... So disappointing
I'll go searching and come back with a link to add to the collection

You have a good point there sanity, no I've not tried the DVF on, looking again dd think the zack dress isn't much longer? Think I'm going to have get out there and try stuff on.

Definitely try the DVF on- the models are all Amazonian.
